Thane Swigart wrote the adaptation of David Guterson’s best-selling novel EAST OF THE MOUNTAINS, starring Tom Skerritt and Mira Sorvino. Simon Abrams at RogerEbert.com said that “Tom Skerritt (gives) a charming, nuanced performance that's worthy of (Swigart’s) considerate and moving adaptation.”

 

Swigart created and wrote the pilot for the series THE MYSTIC, currently set up at Reality Distortion Field with Executive Producer Simon Barry (WARRIOR NUN, CONTINUUM).   Director Chris Eyre (DARK WINDS) is attached to his screenplay BURIED HEART developed with producer Lowell Blank (HOLES).  He also created and wrote the pilot for the series RED BORN for producer Jonathan Krauss 

 

His political thriller NEVER AGAIN, is an adaptation of award-winning journalist/author Lawrence Weschler’s NYT series, produced by Double Nickel Entertainment’s Jenette Kahn and Adam Richman (GRAN TORINO).

 

He recently made his directorial debut with his screenplay AUTOPILOT, starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (GAME OF THRONES), Willa Holland (ARROW, THE O.C.), and Eion Bailey (FROM, BAND OF BROTHERS).

 

He is repped by manager Jeff Field at Field Entertainment.
