LANE MICHAEL STANLEY
Lane is a transgender director, playwright, filmmaker, and producer. Lane is also co-founder of Secretly Famous Productions, along with Lowell Blank. Their award-winning debut feature film ADDICT NAMED HAL played at several festivals including Austin Film Festival, Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and Dances with Films. Their short film UNTIE played at Outfest, the Toronto Short Film Festival, a GLIFF / Prism Film Festival, and more. Their plays have been produced and developed by 19 theaters in 8 states and in Australia. Lane has been a commissioned artist and/or fellow with Lambda Literary, Ground Floor Theatre, Art with Impact, and coLAB Arts and holds an MFA in Directing from the University of Texas, Austin.

Addict Named Hal
My debut feature film ADDICT NAMED HAL is inspired by my experiences living in a recovery house following the sudden death of my fiance in 2016.
We played several festivals including Austin Film Festival and Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and won Best Feature at Poppy Jasper International Film Festival and Big Bear Film Summit.
Quentin Blue
This documentary tells the story of a band formed in 2014 by men serving life sentences in San Quentin State Prison, and re-formed in 2020 in Compton when 3 of those men were granted parole.
In this film, we get to explore the deep friendship and community these men share as a group of creatives, while modeling what true accountability for harm done can look like.
Untie
This kinky short was one of my first films, made on a shoestring but eventually taking us to Outfest.
This film promotes ongoing consent and how people with histories of sexual trauma can find empowering ways to explore their fantasies.
Promise
I myself don't have a dance background, but with incredible collaborators and a clear vision and message, the short dance film PROMISE was born.
This film explores grief and prescription opioid abuse through the universal language of movement.
